Divan-Ballubhai Paldi School
In 1941, due to widespread demands of the people living in Ellisbridge – Paldi and communal riots, “The Proprietary High School” was started at Ellisbridge – Paldi in June 1942, initially in the building of Unnati Vidyalaya and then in the building of Pritamnagar Society.
The first principal was Vikrambhai Keshavlal Desai, who worked tirelessly for the unparalleled development of the school. He was also appointed as a trustee while he was the principal. Even after his retirement in 1964, he continued to guide the administration of the school until his death, in whose memory the kindergarten and primary school stand-alone complex is named after him. By 1951, despite the intense competition, the distinguished tradition of excellent education continued to get noticed, and due to space constraints at Pritamnagar, it was decided to build its own school building in front of the museum, in a convenient location like Paldi, in addition to Pritamnagar.
In October 1953, the building of Paldi School was inaugurated by the then Minister of Education of the Government of Mumbai, Dinkararai Desai. Just like the Kankaria campus, thousands of students of the Paldi campus also have shining examples of their brilliant careers. In 2005-6, after mature consideration as the demand for English medium increased, with full preparations in a very short period, a stand-alone English medium was gradually started from KG to Std.12 from June 2006. In 2016, 10 years of excellence in English medium education got completed.
